as of late.
the past week has been eventful.
drama bbq was really fun. mr. tong loaned us his S$14 million-dollar premises for our bbq, and it was refreshing to have a get-together at the highest point for miles around. the building was resplendent in its own way; though old & dilapidated, it did carry a sense of archaic majesty. imagine having PM goh chok tong, ex-President ong teng cheong & SM lee kuan yew for neighbours! all of us had great fellowship at the roof-top, it was really one without inhibition or reticence. it was truly a time where those present shared a spirit of celebration at the closure of what we all worked hard at for almost half a year. i daresay the absentees missed out on a lot.
the SAF medical check-up was quite a joke, really. for one, ed was actually on time! kenneth & i got the shock of our lives. haha! we underwent all kinds of tests & examinations: blood, urine, eye, dental, hearing, blood pressure, height, weight, ecg, x-ray, intellectual ability, & most importantly, the medical examination by the MO (medical officer). for that one, one has to strip and let the doctor examine your..ahem. and be asked strange questions, like whether you're part of a triad. hmm..it was really quite interesting..not to mention welcome for the fact that i could skip math & afternoon p.e. ;)
one thing which has constantly been on my mind this week is drama. i most unquestionably miss it. and i genuinely wouldn't mind going over the whole
odyssey saga again. why? because it brought most , if not all of us together. it's kinda distressing to see that some of the members have lost their passion for drama and all they've worked for and put in. but i guess it's their own personal choice, and something they have to live with if they honest-to-goodness feel that this cca of theirs won't be something they'll think fondly of in their later years.
addendum:
desktop shut down while i was typing this, and i can't remember what else i wished to say, so i shan't continue. ;)
