welcome.
I know that you believe that you understood
what you think I said, but I am not sure
you realise that what you heard
is not what i meant.

i ♥ NY.

this is the day we've all been waiting for, and yet and most ironically, been wishing will never come to pass. the time we spent in the college will always be immortalised in fond memories that we'll all carry with us as we leave.

there are so many people i have to thank, from the tutors right down to the security guard (yes, even him!). throughout my time spent there, i've forged many bonds which i'll treasure with all my heart in the days to come. the graduation (or farewell) ceremony was one filled with the ubiquitous whispers of students whilst speakers were on the job, and the all-familiar silence as golden moments were bid goodbye.

mr. seah's poem really touched me. indeed, this pasture is where we've all grown up and flourished, and in our own ways grown up to be more mature men and women. as much as some of us may have resented from the start of having to study in a supposedly cina school, we all have to admit the joy, sorrow, laughter and tears we've all shed and shared in this place. and it's time to move on to a new pasture, as unbearable and tearful as it may be.

nanyang junior college is a place where i have found the love and warmth of humanity. this is what life is all about: having a hope and delight in our trials and tribulations, that in them we may come out and above stronger and braver. whether this is unanimous or not, the school has moulded us and changed us, and for many a great deal better and wiser.

thank you everyone.
it's been a great journey, and all of you have truly proven your mettle to be carriers of destiny. i wish you every success, and may all that life can offer be with you, and may you honour and love those around and all that you have in a most precious way.

i wish to thank the following, in random order, as i'm listing out names from the top of my head. but even if i've forgotten to include you, you're still special. really. :)

In This Life

For all I've been blessed with in this life
There was an emptiness in me
I was imprisoned by the power of gold
With one honest touch, you set me free

Let the world stop turning
Let the sun stop burning
Let them tell me love's not worth going through
If it all falls apart, I will know deep in my heart
The only dream that mattered had come true
In this life, I was loved by you

For every mountain I have climbed
Every raging river crossed
You were the treasure that I longed to find
Without your love I would be lost

Let the world stop turning
Let the sun stop burning
Let them tell me love's not worth going through
If it all falls apart, I will know deep in my heart
The only dream that mattered had come true
In this life, I was loved by you

In this life, I was loved by you.
