sawadeekrup!regimentation has always been rather disagreeable with me, and more so in Thailand. pointless act of apparent soldierism, i would say.
sleeping an average of three to four hours a day surprisingly didn't leave me in a foul mood, and though the exercise totally maxes out the word 'tired', it was actually quite satisfactory. i like learning, and i learnt lots. either do something properly, or don't do it at all. thus, the trip was a success, at least to me.
joke of the trip:
one driver was telling me the thai interpretation of the name of the band Linkin' Park. in thai, 'Lin' refers to 'Monkey', 'In' to 'Eat' and 'Park' to 'Grass'. which effectively means: Linkin' Park equals 'Monkey Eats Grass'. looks like their manager didn't gather enough background information in S.E. Asia.
the food was wonderful, without question better than taiwan's. greater variety and colour. or maybe it's just the tangy tomyam i had
everyday i was in camp. but i'll have to add some of the hawkers weren't
quite okay. they were, erm, different.
really, i should be pleased i've got tons of books to read. or should i? somehow, it seems that there is 'reading to be done' rather than reading at one's leisurely discretion. more chore than will. shall do something about it.
ever since i touched down in Singapore saturday morning, i've slept a grand total of 10 hours. there you have it, bleary-eyed. there are just so many things to do. at times i really wish there are more than 24 hours in a day. 48 would be nice. but i'm pleased i managed to spend unfettered time with some of my close friends today. that's what matters.
after a month, it's now time for a welcome break (or whatever's left of it).
khoppunkrap. :)
